Zikhona Sodlaka Celebrates 2 Decades In the Industry. She started making waves in the industry when she was just barely in her 20’s. Now 39 year-old Zikhona Sodlaka has clocked a whole 20 years in the performing arts.
The multi-award winning actress started off in the industry as a model, and did some television commercials. She had as many auditions as possible in order to crack television drama. Zikhona then bagged a part on Generation, before the show fired 14 actors.
Her first lead role came when she was cast as Zukiswa for the fourth and final season of Tsha Tsha. From then on, it was lead role after lead role for her. These include starring as Ayanda Tau in the e.tv soccer drama Shooting Stars.
Zikhona later played the role of Noluthando in the SABC1 drama series Soul City and the leading role of Noli Ntshinga in the SABC1 drama series Montana. She also acted in the SABC1 miniseries Entabeni (based on the Shakespeare play Macbeth) and starred in the second season of the SABC1 drama series A Place Called Home.
She has also been on shows like The Wife, Rhythm City, Intsika, Intersexions among many others. Her most recent acting gig is playing, on Gqeberha: The Empire. Along the way, Zikhona has bagged many awards including Best Actress In A TV Series at the 2023 National Film & TV Awards South Africa.
