Amanda Manku On What Helps Her Nail the Current Skeem Saam Storyline. Will Elisabeth Thobakgale ever catch a break! A few years back she had an accident that landed her in a wheelchair. It seems as if it was all over for Lizzy, who had aspirations to become a doctor.

Lizzy managed to pass through all that, recovered and she is now a practicing doctor. Her love life wasn’t all rosy as her man Mangaliso chose Lelo over her. Lizzy went on to find love in the arms of Zamokuhle popularly known as Kwaito. Her mother Jacobeth Thobakgale disapproved of the relationship, but eventually gave in, just before the two got married.

Another huddle that Lizzy was faced with, was not being accepted by her mother in law, MaNtuli. Her sister in law, Pretty also gave her a hard time. She found comfort from the fact that Kwaito was an amazing husband. The two recently fell pregnant with twins, and everyone around them was happy. Sadly, it was discovered that Lizzy’s pregnancy was risky, and she had to terminate the pregnancy or risk going back to the wheelchair. Her decision to terminate made MaNtuli loathe her even more, and caused a rift between her and Kwaito.

This is such a difficult situation, that many people always find themselves in. Seeing it unfold in our screens brings a wider perspective. Amanda Manku, who plays Lizzy, has also joined in on the conversation. The talented actress reveals that she had to dig deeper within herself to match the storyline. At times, she will still cry, even after they have wrapped shooting. She also gives credit to her onscreen husband Clement Maosa for helping her nail these heavy scenes.
