SA Celebrities Remember AKA On What Would Have Been His 37th Birthday. He might be gone, but he is definitely not forgotten. It has been almost two years since Kiernan AKA Forbes’ untimely passing, but his family, loved ones and fans continue to keep his memory alive.
The multi-award winning rapper and TV personality was shot dead outside a restaurant in Durban on 10 February 2023. He was scheduled to perform at the Yugo nightclub in Durban as part of his birthday celebration. That night, as AKA was standing outside a restaurant with friends, a gunman ran up to him fatally shot him in the head. His friend Tebello Motsoane, was also shot at the scene, and they were both pronounced dead at the scene. Suspects linked to the murders are in custody, and the trial is ongoing.
If that fateful day had never happened, AKA would have been 37 years today. As expected social media users are remembering the star with beautiful tributes. His mom Lynn Forbes penned a beautiful message to remember him. She took her followers through a journey from the day AKA was born.
