Phila Madlingozi Returns to TV With New Acting Gig. In February this year, Phila Madlingozi announced that he was taking a break from acting. He stated that although this was not been an easy decision to make, it was also a room for growth. Taking this break will enable Phila to fully explore his musical side and find new ways to create and inspire.
Well, it seems like the break is over, as Phila, is back with a new role and new show altogether. The talented actor, TV personality, musician and reality show star will star in a new movie which will air on Mzansi Bioskop. Phila has been cast as Dr. Phawu, a man whose journey is about navigating a world of ambition, resilience, and raw emotion. He stars alongside the likes of Penwell Mkhathini and Lerato Mahlaselao.
The film premiers on 14 September 2025 at 7:00 PM on DStv Channel 164.
