One of the recent events where Thobile Mseleku was booked at is the Umzimbuvi Women Business Expo. MaKhumalo was one of the panelists booked to address women in business alongside Hon MEC Sibulele Ngongo and Onela Sigobelwana. The event took place on the 31st of August at Afrizona Guest House, but MaKhumalo was a no show.
Taking to social media, she cited her reasons for not honoring the invitation. According to MaKhumalo, the organizers did not meet some of her expectations in time. She stated that a deposit was paid back in May, with the promise that the balance will be settled in a week. Unfortunately after numerous attempts from her side, the payment never materialized. After being assured that the payment will come, MaKhumalo traveled over 300km to the area. Upon arrival, she was met with more excuses and delays. What was evening more saddening for MaKhumalo is that she cancelled other events to attend this particular one.
