Nompumelelo Vilakazi Crossing Fingers for Her Next Acting Gig. She is one of the most talented actress to ever grace our screens. Sadly the last we saw of Nompumelelo Vilakazi, was when she was cast on Mzansi Magic telenovela, Diep City.

The award winning actress played the role of Snenhlanhla, who is commonly known as Sne. The character brought light to the plight faced by struggling single mothers. Sne went all out trying to feed her family, including criminal activities. She was part of a gang of four young ladies, who become burglars to make ends meet. Sne killed her boyfriend after enduring years of abuse, and now had to do all she could to pick up her life.

Nompumelelo got the news of this role on an Instagram live and auditioned for the producer Mandla N, right there on Instagram. She then got a call-back and went in for a real audition, and as they say, the rest is history. The role saw her win The Best Newcomer Award at the Royalty Soapie awards. Nompumelelo also bagged a nomination in the category, Best Newcomer Actress at the Simon “Mabhunu” Sabela KZN Film and TV Awards.

Sadly after two successful seasons, Diep City which replaced Isibaya bowed out. This meant loss of jobs for the cast and crew members. A number of the actors got absorbed back in the industry, luckily. However some like Mpumelelo, are still out in the cold.

One entertainment blogger, recently took to Twitter, expressing how much he is missing her on screen. Responding to that, Mpumelelo said, if only she could get that chance. It was heartwarming how many people in the comments section, are rooting for her comeback.
