Inside Qhawekazi Mazaleni’s Epic 3-Day Homecoming Celebration. There is nothing that beats being loved by your won. Qhawekazi got to experience that over the weekend, when she landed at her hometown. From the young and old, everyone wanted piece of her, when she took to the streets.
The beauty queen and author’s journey began in the streets of Mthatha, where she was welcomed warmly. Arriving in a car, she rolled through familiar neighborhoods, stopping spontaneously to greet cheering locals. Residents gathered along the roadside, and many had the opportunity to speak with her and snap selfies, which was a touching moment of community pride and connection. Qhawekazi looked all stunning rocking a Xhosa outfits from House of Nala.
Her second takeover was at Mbashe LG Mall, where she also got a great reception. On the day, she wore a bespoke Xhosa ensemble vibrant with bead-work and embroidered with her name “Qhawe.” She got heartwarming gifts such as flowers and a portrait from admires. Qhawe also got to visit a local primary school, where she distributed gifts to children
Her last day was at Buffalo City, rocking a gorgeous orange dress. The Queen was serenaded by a local musician, who moved her deeply. Amid music and cheers, the gracious queen, now a national icon embraced well-wishers with heartfelt kindness.
