Applications Open for the Democratic Alliance (DA) Social Media Officer. The Democratic Alliance (DA) is looking for a creative Social Media Officer to join its professional team. The role is ideal for someone passionate about digital storytelling, shaping conversations, and creating meaningful engagement.

The Successful Candidate Will Be Responsible for:

  • Ensuring that the party’s messaging is successfully communicated on social media channels to the appropriate audiences
  • Assisting with implementing the party’s social media strategy
  • Ensuring the party finds new opportunities and is responsive to voters on all social media channels

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • National Senior Certificate or equivalent
  • Tertiary qualification in Marketing, Communications or related field (advantageous)
  • Experience in managing social media brands
  • Knowledge of social media trends
  • Knowledge of the party’s policies
  • Computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Written and verbal communication
  • Administration and attention to detail
  • Time management
  • Multitasking
  • Problem solving

Abilities:

  • Create content
  • Use initiative and work well in high-pressure situations
  • Be outcomes-orientated, not simply task-orientated
  • Work independently

  • Commitment to the principles, policies and programme of action of the Democratic Alliance
  • Willingness to go the extra mile, which may include working long and irregular hours, weekends, and public holidays where necessary
