Former Generation Star Kagiso Rakosa Returns to Acting With A New Role
Former Generation Star Kagiso Rakosa Returns to Acting With A New Role. The nation’s crush is back. Many have been wondering where Kagiso Rakosa is, since her departure from Generations years ago. Now their prayers and wishes have finally been answered.
The talented actress was undoubtedly the darling of small screens and wowed South Africans with her unmatched acting flair as Sharon on Generations. She started off as an extra on the hit soapie, before long she was handed a major role. Her character experienced major growth, and eventually fell in love with Samuel Khumalo, played by Thabiso Mokgethi.
Sadly after almost six years with the SABC1 soapie, Kagiso had to bid farewell to her roles. Her contract was not renewed, much to their shock as well as the viewers. Generations was making way for new talent, hence some established actors like her had to go. Since then, Kagiso bagged a few roles, but eventually vanished from our screens and the entertainment industry altogether.
Now the beloved actress is back with a bang, as she recently bagged a new role. She has been cast in the upcoming drama series Magaeng with other talented actors. Nothing much has been said about her role, but it is obvious that Kagiso plays a cop in the drama.
The legendary Khabonina Qubeka bagged the lead role on Magaeng, as a woman in witness protection who wants to be on a Real Gold Diggers reality show. Co-stars include Themba Ndaba as her greedy husband, Thato Molamu as the police officer who must protect her, Tina Mnumzane, Keke Mphuthi and Sdumo Mtshali. Real Gold Digger LeJoy makes an appearance.
Magaeng premieres Saturday 8 July at 20h30 (1Magic) and Monday 10 July at 20h00.
