Trevor Noah Set to Host New Show Back Home. In September 2022, he announced his exit from The Daily Show, where he was the host for 7 years. Many people wanted to know Trevor Noah’s next move, after being with such a major show.
Immediately after his exit, Noah released his Off The Record Tour 2023 gig guide. The multi-award winning TV personality and stand up comedian kicked off the much anticipated tour in Atlanta USA, and he will cover at least 30 states. South Africans are also waiting for Noah, has teamed up with Savanna Cider, for a whopping 12 shows across the country. The tour will run from the 31st of August 2023, to the 15th of September 2023.
There is another project that Noah will also do here at home. Amazon Prime Video has set its first South African original, LOL: Last One Laughing, an unscripted comedy series which will be hosted by Noah. On the show, Noah will pit 10 famous local comedians and entertainers against one another to see who can keep a straight face while simultaneously trying to make their opponents laugh.
“I’m excited to be back home to host Prime Video’s first South African Original, ‘LOL: Last One Laughing,’ and to have a chance to connect with my home audience,” said Noah.
The grand prize is a whooping 1 million Rand, which will go to the winner’s South African charity of choice. LOL: Last One Laughing, will launch in early 2024, and we can’t wait.
LOL: Last One Laughing, is an adaptation of a franchise that Amazon is producing in more than 20 territories. Other celebrity hosts include Jay Baruchel (Canada), Eugenio Derbez (Mexico), Fedez (Italy), Michael “Bully” Herbig (Germany) and Rebel Wilson (Australia). There is no doubt that our Trevor is going to be an amazing host as well.
