Jafta Mamabolo Reveals the Number of Years Since He Got An Acting Role. Looking at how talented he is, one would thing it hasn’t been that long since he bagged a role. Well the truth of the matter is that Jafta Mamabolo hasn’t acted in quite a long time.
Jafta holds many caps in the industry among them being, an award winning actor, director, writer, producer TV personality and fashion designer. He however is best known by any through his acting jobs. Jafta has played lead roles in popular films such as Freedom, Gangster’s Paradise: Jerusalema and Otelo Burning.
He also joined the cast of third and fourth season of youth drama program Soul Buddyz which aired on SABC1. His role later received a nomination for the Best Lead Actor in a TV drama series. In 2011, he played the role ‘Matthew’ in the popular soapie Generations.
After two-year long hiatus, Jafta made a comeback in 2018 with the film Freedom. He wrote and directed the script for the film, which later became a super hit in South African cinema. In May this year, Freedom hit the DStv Box-Office, making it get all the exposure it deserves. A couple of months later in the same year the film started streaming on Showmax Online.
Despite all the accolades and achievements, we haven’t seen Jafta being cast on shows in quite some time. He also took to Twitter to verify this fact. Jafta revealed that this is his sixth year of him not acting. Well since he is a writer, he is even thinking of writing himself a nice challenging role. Now this we can’t wait to witness!
“Haven’t acted since 2017; I should probably write myself a nice, challenging role to scratch this itch.” Jafta said.
