Phindile Gwala Returns to Imbewu
Phindile Gwala Returns to Imbewu. Two years ago, Phindile Gwala bagged herself a role on e.tv drama Imbewu. She plays Fikile, who arrived on the scene at the funeral service of Zimele “Ngcolosi” Bhengu, a character that was played by renowned actor, Tony Kgoroge.
The role of Fikile was not a favorite though to some viewers. Many people regarded her as a home wrecker, because when she came to town she found Ngcolosi’s son Nkululeko Bhengu still in a relationship with Zethu, who was also pregnant with their baby at the time. This led to Nkululeko leaving his baby mama to pursue a relationship with Fikile.
In November 2021, Phindile bid farewell to her character as Fikile in Imbewu–The Seed. Her departure came about after she discovered that she was part of the Bhengu family when her mother came. This led to her fall out with some of the family members and her exit from the show. The last time we saw Fikile on screen, audiences believed she was dead. Some publications reported that Phindile was axed from the show because she failed to deliver on her acting skills.
After leaving the drama series, she focused on her other hustles that she does off screen. She has always been doing part-time modelling when, and continued working with clothing brands like Khosi Nkosi that appreciate curvy women with bigger bodies.
The good thing for Phindile and her fans is that she is back on the show to continue with her role, and she is taking no prisoners. Fikile makes a major comeback to become the new owner of Emsamo. Her return is part of a sinister plot that she’s been cooking up with, Khemisi who is MaNdlovu’s cynical brother.
Catch Fikile’s this Thursday 27 October at 9PM on Imbewu.
