Thembi Seete Appreciates Her International Award Nod. From South Africa to the rest of the continent, Thembi Seete is doing the most. The talented entertainer is getting recognized beyond our borders and we love this for her.
Thembi has been in the industry for almost three decades. She burst in the scene in 1994 as a member of Kwaito hit group Boom Shaka, before going solo in 2000. Thembi is also a renowned actress of note, who has worked for a number of productions. She made her debut film with Hijack Stories in a minor role, then joined with the SABC1 drama serial Yizo Yizo.
Other shows that Thembi has been cast on include SABC1 drama serial Gaz’lam, where she played the role “Lerato” until 2004. In 2005, she acted in the direct-to-video film Crossing the Line by playing the role of “Pumla”. Meanwhile in 2006, she made her first leading role in SABC1 soccer drama serial Zone 14. In the serial, she played the role of “Nina Moloi” for four seasons with good reviews. Currently she plays Gladys on Gomora, a role that saw her bag the On Screen Outstanding Couple award at the Royalty Soapie Awards.
The musician, actress and Idols SA host has another chance to increase her awards. Thembi has been nominated at the Africa Choice Awards under The Female Movie Star of 2022 category. She will be battling it out with other African stars including our very own Tarina Patel.
