Sad Note: Former Rhythm City Actor Bruno Majola Passes On
Sad Note: Former Rhythm City Actor Bruno Majola Passes On. Just a couple of weeks back one actor, Mncedisi Shabangu, well known for his Rhythm City role passed away. The 53-year old played Khulekani on the e.tv soapie which came to an end in July 2021.
Sadly another entertainer who made his name on Rhythm City, Bruno Majola has just been reported late. Former colleague at Rhythm City Zola Hashatsi took to Instagram to break the news. According to some reports he was found dead on Monday evening by his girlfriend. At this point details surrounding his sudden passing are still sketchy, with some suspecting suicide, others foul play.
Majola played bad boy Bongani Khumalo on the soapie, a character that a lot of people related with. Just like Majola’s real life, Bongani was trying to break in the entertainment industry as a musician, as well as escape his former life of crime.
Before joining Rhythm City, Majola was already out there as a musician. The talented actor and artist was part of a kwaito duo Gumshev, which released a debut album Straight Out Of Prison after Majola had spent time in a juvenile jail.
He then went on to work with some of the best music producers and artists including MXO, Pitch Black Afro, Malik, Amu, Pro Kid, DJ Cleo, Zola, Ishmael, Bongani Fassie, Donald, Morafe, Da LES, Brown Dash, Mapaputsi, 985, Imbube, Drenko and many others.
The family is yet to share an official statement, but nonetheless messages of condolences are pouring in. We also at Youth Village take this opportunity to send our sincere condolences to Majola’s family, colleagues, fans and loved ones.
