Check Out How SA Female Celebs Celebrated Themselves On Women’s Day. The 9th of August is a very special date of South Africans at large. On this date in 1956 women from all races marched to the Union Buildings to protest against the proposed amendments to the Urban Areas Act of 1950, that required black people to carry a pass.

From 1994 when the country had it’s first democratic elections, Women’s Day was celebrated, a tradition that is still carried on to date. The day has been turned into a public holiday or some, which a lot of people in the country use to reflect on the impact that women have in the society. Although women issues are a lot and far from being over, at least on this day, they feel appreciated, mostly by those in leadership positions.

Some of our celebrities joined in the Women’s Day celebration by sharing powerful messages on their social media platforms. Some even went to the extend of going out to unwind, while others reflected on major milestones.
