Khaya Mthethwa Announces His New Radio Gig. When one door closes, several other doors open. This statement resonates very well with Khaya Mthethwa who just got a new radio job, after his contract at Metro FM was not renewed.
During hit stay at Metro FM, the media personality, singer and former Idols SA winner was co-presenting the Sunday christian programme from 6-9am alongside Thami Ngubeni. Sadly when the popular SABC commercial radio station revamped it line up in April 2021, Khaya did not make the cut as part of the line up for the 2022/2023 season.
His absence from radio, has been short-lived, as now Khaya has a new radio home. He has just joined one of Johannesburg’s biggest commercial radio station Kaya FM broadcasting on 94.3fm. He will start his new job at the station, this coming Saturday from 9am to 12pm where he will host a brand new show, Kaya on 957.
Khaya is joining Kaya FM alongside Dineo Ranaka , Sol Phenduka and other personalities in line with the continuous repositioning the station has embarked on since 2021.

Khaya is among personalities who made it big after participating in reality shows. He is best known for winning the 8th season of the TV singing competition Idols South Africa, the first black person to have done so. He worked his way up, and is now a recognized media personality, who has a few TV shows that he hosted.
