Thomas Gumede Celebrates His Film Bagging an International Award. KEDIBONE has been making major waves over the past couple of months. The film started off the month of June as the number 1 movie in France. A day after it started streaming on Netflix, KEDIBONE became the number one most watched film.

In November 2021, KEDIBONE was chosen together with best films from countries such as Brazil, Russia and India, to showcase in India at the BRICS Film Festival. It is heartwarming to see KEDIBONE do so well, more so since this is Thomas Gumede‘s first feature film as a director.

Thomas has another reason to be proud of himself, as KEDIBONE bags an international award. The film has just won the Best Film Award at the Septimius Awards, which were held in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

KEDIBONE. We won best film in AFRICA at the @septimiusawards in Amsterdam!! Again, thank you to EVERYONE who was part of this film. Thank you to everyone who watched and posted and supported the film! God is good, all the time,” Thomas gushed.

KEDIBONE is a coming of age South African feature film about an exotically beautiful Sotho girl by the name of Kedibone Manamela. She was born and raised in Orlando East, Soweto and has chosen to live her early youth on the fast lane.

The award winning film boast talented cast members, among them: Natasha Thahane, Wright Ngubeni, Busisiwe Mtshali, Thabo Malema, Thami Mnqolo, Matli Mohapeloa, Kenneth Nkosi, Kwezi Ndlovu, Tessa Twala, Melvinah Eheli, Unathi Guma, Nicholas Sibanda, Tshego Koke, Keke Mphuti and Sivenathi Mabuya.
