Trevor Noah Mourns His Grandmother in a Beautiful Tribute. If you still have your grandmother alive, consider yourself blessed. Grandmothers are the epitome of love, security and protection, moreover they are the superglue that keeps a family together.
One person who has been enjoying the benefits of having a grandmother in their live is Trevor Noah. His grandmother Frances Noah has been an integral part of his life, and was mentioned quite a lot in his stand up comedy gigs. Sadly granny Noah passed away in her sleep a few days ago at the age of 95, and she has just been laid to rest.
The Daily Show host and multi-award winning comedian took to Instagram to pay her a beautiful tribute. He shared a short video of himself and granny having a beautiful moment filled with laughter. On the caption Trevor shared just how incredible a woman his granny was to him, the family and community at large.
“Every moment spent with her felt like a magical journey through time where she would recount all of the family’s greatest joys, losses, achievements and milestones. Her house in Soweto wasn’t just a home, it was a refuge, a place where other women would come when they had no other place to go, a place where members of the community would gather to pray together every single week, a place where everyone was guaranteed to feel the love emanating from her mighty chest,” Trevor said.
He went on to say that he cried the whole week, celebrating the life of the woman who showed him the truest definition of unconditional love. Trevor also thanked everybody for the condolences and the blessings they have sent in his grandmother’s memory.
