Meet the New Idols SA Judges. The day that so many people have been waiting for with baited breath, has finally arrived. A few weeks ago, it was announced that Idols SA has let go of judges, Randal Abrahams and Unathi Nkayi. Their shocking exit come after another judge Somizi Mhlongo, departed the show in 2021 following serious allegations of physical abuse by his then partner Mohale Motaung.
The big question in everyone lips, was who was going to fill in their big shoes. Well well well, what do you know! Somizi is back on the judges’ seat and his fans couldn’t be happier. The veteran media personality, reality TV star and all round entertainer will be joined by two other talented South African personalities. The two are Thembi Seete and Thato JR Bogopa, who have just been unveiled as Season 18 judges.
Thembi, has been in the entertainment industry for as long as we can remember. Among other things she is a talented musician, an actress, a TV host and an entrepreneur. On Idols SA Season 17, Thembi came through as one of the guest judges, and she was a fan favorite. Her experience, love for the industry, and compassion for contestants left viewers asking for more of her.
JR also is a well known personality who has made a name for himself in the industry. The creative entrepreneur, producer, writer TV personality and award winning musician has also judged a Hip Hop show, an experience he will definitely bring on Idols SA..
