Unathi Oozes Positivity as She Bows Out of Idols SA

Unathi Oozes Positivity as She Bows Out of Idols SA. The past couple of months have been quite a ride for Unathi Nkayi. One of the most painful things that happened to her was being fired from Kaya FM in November 2021. This was after she and her former colleague Sizwe Dhlomo got onto some kind of altercation. After HR reviewed their case, Unathi was let go from her job as a presenter at the station.

Unathi has just lost another job. The veteran media personality and musician’s contract as an Idols SA judge has not be renewed this new season. Unathi has been with the show for many seasons and her job as a judge was appreciated by many fans of the show. She was emotional most of the time, more so, when the contestants performed exceptionally well.

Even good things come to an end eventually, as we see in the case of Unathi. A few days ago, it was revealed that she and another long-serving judge, Randall Abrahams will not be judges for the upcoming 18th season of Idols SA. Their shocking exit come after Somizi Mhlongo departed the show in 2021 following serious allegations of physical abuse.

Instead of being all sad and bitter about it, Unathi is grateful. She took to social media to thank everyone both locally and internationally for the love and kindness they have shown her while she was a judge. Unathi also thanked the contestants, who were brave enough to stand before them as judges and unleash their potential.

“Oh man! Thank you for your love South Africa and our beautiful continent of Africa. Please allow me to honor you. You have been kind, loving and deeply invested. Truly the real energy and heartbeat of a wonderful wave of hope and dreams coming true on Idols and as you do that, you have made my dreams come true too. THANK YOU.

To every contestant who stood in front of us. From the ones brave enough to share with us their hopes. I don’t take lightly the act of doing that for the world to see. An honor I will always hold. Thank you for trusting me as one of your judges. To those who unleashed a new level of my tears, heavily pregnant with Baby Idols garnering for Wooden Mic, thank you for the laughter and joy,” Unathi said.

She also wished the new members of the family all the best as they take over from them. We can’t wait to see whta’s in store fore Unathi in the future.
