Connie Ferguson on the Effect Working Out Has on Her Mental Health
Connie Ferguson on the Effect Working Out Has on Her Mental Health. As they say, mental health is not a destination, but a process. As much as it’s not easy, you have to recognize your triggers and work on how to handle them. With a lot of people always smiling, and looking happy, it is not easy for others to recognize that you might have a problem, so the healing progress has to start with you.
A growing number of our celebrities are coming out about their mental health issues. Just a few weeks ago, Dudu Busani-Dube opened up about her mental health issues. The talented author used her experience to teach people that mental health issues affect just anyone regardless of their status. Other celebrity like Lasizwe Dambuza, Penny Lebyane, Dawn Thandeka King, Bonnie Mbuli and Sonia Mbele have also shared touching stories of their mental health issues.
It’s not easy to overcome mental health illness, but one can divert their attention to things that bring them joy. This is the case with Connie Ferguson, who uses exercise to deal with her issues. The award winning actress and entrepreneur took to social media to reveal that exercising has a great effect on her mental health and because of her commitment, she has been off antidepressants for years.
“Exercise is good for so many different reasons, but the reason I commit even when I don’t feel like it, is because of its effect on my mental health!?? It’s been years that I’ve been off antidepressants, and even in the most challenging times, I managed to stay off. Wake up, PRAY, exercise and go about your day,” Connie said.
