NSFAS Extends Application Deadline. This is good news to prospective students out there. The National Student Financial Aid Scheme, which provides financial aid to undergraduate students to help pay for the cost of their tertiary education after finishing high school has just extended their application deadline.
Instead of the initial 07 January 2022 closing date, applicants now have until 21 January 2022 to apply. The extension was implemented due to the staggering number of applications from those hoping to obtain the bursary which covers the full cost of study. This includes tuition, registration, learning material, meal allowances, accommodation and even a personal care allowance.
NSFAS also stated that they are currently experiencing a high volume of applications on the myNSFAS portal and, thus, students might experience difficulties logging in. They however encourage students to keep on trying until they are successful.

“URGENT ANNOUNCEMENT: The deadline for NSFAS 2022 applications has been extended to Friday, January 21, 2022. The previous deadline was Friday, January 07, 2022,” the announcement reads.
