Bonang Matheba Wins Case Against Rea Gopane

Bonang Matheba Wins Case Against Rea Gopane. Being cyber bullied is one of the most painful thing one can go through. Someone can just say anything about you online, and worse still have people support them because apparently they are straight talkers. Well, Rea Gopane has just learned the hard way that we really have to be nice in these social media spaces.

In May 2021, Rea made news after boldly saying on his podcast that Bonang introduced her ex boyfriend AKA to drugs. The podcast host said this after AKA’s fiance’s Nelli passed away. There was a rumor going around, regarding her death, where people kept saying the death was related to substance abuse. The rumor also continued to say Bonang was the one who introduced AKA to those substances.

“We know AKA, let’s not hide from the truth. Scoop told us that AKA is on cocaine and Bonang is the one that got him onto cocaine,” he said.

After Rea went on and on about the issue, Bonang’s lawyers made contact with him and he was asked to retract his statement. He didn’t do so, and he was served with a letter, stating that Rea has to apologize in all his social media platforms, and also pay Bonang an amount of R500 000 within 10 days.

Although he apologized to the media personality, Rea kept on poking Bonang in his podcast, something that always left Twitter divided. Little did he know that, the support you get from social media versus real world are two different things. Now he has lost the case that Bonang had against him, and has to pay R300 000 or face jail time of up to 30 years. Hectic!
