Pearl Thusi Shares Her Views on Gender Based Violence But Catches Smoke Because of Her History with Bonang

Pearl Thusi Shares Her Views on Gender Based Violence But Catches Smoke Because of Her History with Bonang. One thing about social media users, they always have the files. A number of people including celebrity stylist, Tshepi Vundla and former Miss SA hopeful Bianca Schoombee, are among those personalities whose past tweets landed them in hot waters.

It looks like one person who will never catch a break over a video they shared on social media years back, is Pearl Thusi. It is no secret that she and Bonang Matheba are not the best of friends. On several occasions, Pearl has taken jabs at Bonang, and was eventually fored from Metro FM because of it. A few years ago, when news about Bonang’s ex boyfriend Euphonick’s abuse on her broke, Pearl wasn’t among those who empathized with B. In fact, she did a video which was posted in May 2016 by socialite Linda Moeketsi.

Moeketsi and Pearl can bee seen in a night club recording a video message for their friend who had, at the time, made headlines for insulting the nation using his famous “nonke” phrase. The video did not sit well with a lot of people, due to the “hlanyo” reference, as it was a word Euphonik used in reference to Bonang.

We just want to know, where are our nonke shirts? I’m hlanyo, he’s hlanyo…” began Pearl, before Moeketsi interjected,  “We’re all hlanyo!”

We’re all hlanyos. We want our nonke shirts Euphonik and we love you. Spice levels on a million, yeah!” concluded Thusi.

Now as issues of gender based violence escalate, Pearl wanted to share her views, but social media directed her straight to the video. Pearl tweeted that South African men don’t understand the idea of accountability at all. The media personality and actress was then labeled a hypocrite, with selective support.
