Nambitha Ben-Mazwi On Her Family and People In PE Calling Those With Mental Illness By The Character She Played On The Queen

Nambitha Ben-Mazwi On Her Family and People In PE Calling Those With Mental Illness By The Character She Played On The Queen. In most cases people call an actor or actress by the character they played on a particular show. Nambitha Ben-Mazwi’s case is quite different in a very funny way. She has noticed that mental illness sufferers are now called Shaqueesha after a character she played on The Queen.

Apart from bringing a different kind of energy to The Queen, Shaqueesha also brought mental health awareness to viewers. She suffered from schizophrenia, a condition that put her and those around her in danger. Now her family and some people around PE call people with mental illness, Shaqueesha.

Guuuys… people in PE including my very own family, call people with a mental illness (specifically schizophrenia) Shakisha. All of that education and hard work I did for raising awareness through my role for people to say, “ungu Shakisha lowa”, she said.

The Port Elizabeth-born starlet studied business science and worked in the corporate world as a strategist. In 2012, she quit her corporate job to pursue her acting dream in New York. Ever since then Nambitha has been slaying any kind of character put before her.

Her hard work has also paid off in ways no words can comprehend. I 2020 alone, Nambitha was a recipient of the 6th annual international women of wonder awards. She was also a part of Beyonce’s Black Is King and recently celebrated being on three Netflix shows.
