One Night Kwa Mxolisi Bags 2 International Award Nods. South African films continue to make a mark globally. Just the other day, Thomas Gumede was celebrating his film, KEDIBONE going international. The film, which stars Natasha Thahane, has been selected to showcase in India at the BRICS Film Festival.

We have seen other local films such as Loosing Lerato by Kagiso Modupe, The Award Ceremony by Mmabatho Montsho, Kings of Joburg by the Ferguson Films, do amazing things on an international stage. A growing number of our actors such as Thuso Mbedu, Nomzamo Mbatha, Bonnie Mbuli and Refilwe Modiselle have also made a mark internationally.

Another local film that is worth noting is One Night Kwa Mxolisi. The film has just bagged two award nominations at the New Vision International Film Festival. The NVIFF will be held on the 19th to the 20th December 2021 in Amsterdam. The Netherlands.

Directed by Sisanda Henna, the film stars such great talent, among them Henna himself, Fulu Mugovhani, Nyaniso Dzedze, Donovan Goliath, Buhle Samuels, Linda Mtoba and Micaiah Henna. The storyline centers around a once semi-successful rugby player who has opened a new restaurant. His friends came to celebrate his success for a night of fun, where too much information is shared. Just after one too many vodkas and a few too many truth-bombs, illusions are shattered and friendships are tested.
