Lesedi Matsunyane Remembers Shona Ferguson With a Touching Tribute 4 Months After His Death. Time drags when you are in pain. Grief is among those things that make you feel like you are going through the most for eternity. Every memory brings back the pain, and it makes the loss feel like it just happened yesterday. This is exactly what the Ferguson family is going through.

The family lost their head, Shona Ferguson on the 30th of July 2021. The award winning actor and producer lost his life after battling Covid-19 complicated issues for a few weeks. One of those battling to come to terms with this loss is Lesedi Matsunyane, who is their first born daughter. A little over a month ago, Lesedi had the honor of representing the family at the Royalty Soapie Awards. The actress presented a segment to honor creatives that we have lost this year. Lesedi, later revealed that shortly after presenting this segment, she broke down backstage.

She has recently had another chance to represent his late father at an award ceremony. Shona was honored at the recent GQ Men of the Year Awards, by receiving the Editor’s Special Tribute Award. This goes on to show that Lesedi and Shona had such a special father and daughter relationship.

Today marks 4 months since Shona’s untimely passing, and the day also marks 20 years, since he and Connie Ferguson got married. Lesedi took to Instagram to remember his late father as well as show sympathy and empathy to her widowed mother Connie.

The more time that passes, the more I feel like I left too many things unsaid. The more I question whether I showed my love for you enough, and regret the hugs I didn’t give or take. I also question if I made you proud then and I’m making you proud now. I’m trying. Don’t know if I’m succeeding.

It’s not just 4 months since we lost you. It’s also your 20 year anniversary with Ma @connie_ferguson. I cannot imagine how bittersweet today is and I’m honestly heartbroken just thinking about it. Please be with her today. She misses you more than words can describe. We all do,”
Lesedi said.
