Zimi Mabunzi’s Miss SA Top 5 Answer Wins Hearts

Zimi Mabunzi’s Miss SA Top 5 Answer Wins Hearts. It goes without saying that brains and beauty go together. Gone are the days when women in beauty pageants were regarded as nothing but empty heads, who only have looks. Women are continue to show everyday that their intelligence is not defined by how they look, and that they can be beautiful as well as be smart at the same time.

Case in point will be that of South African beauty queens. The question and answer session is always the most difficult, but these ladies always kill the answers. To this day, we still can’t get over Zozibini Tunzi’s answer at the Miss Universe 2019’s final round. All the three finalists were asked the question, “What is the most important thing we should be teaching young girls today?” Zozibini winning answer was, “The most important thing we should be teaching young girls today is leadership….Nothing is [as] important as taking up space in society and cementing yourself”. She immediately earned admiration from judges, the audience as well as many people around the world.

This time around another young lady has won hearts with her beautiful timely answer. Zimi Mabunzi, who recently became a runner up at Miss South Africa 2021 is truly a beauty with brains. Her question was, “Why do you think it’s important for society to allow transgender women to enter the Miss South Africa competition?” To which Zimi answered, “I honestly don’t think that shouldn’t be a question. As society we really need to release ourselves from the authority that we tend to exercise over other people’s lives. If anything trans women should be here. I believe that every identity should be given the chance to be visible in our society.

Her answer immediately made her a fierce contender for the title. Zimi went on to make it to Top 3, where she eventually became a runner up together with Moratwe Masima. Lalela Mswane took the crown at the pageant which was held at the GrandWest Casino and Entertainment World in Cape Town at a glittering and star-studded ceremony this past Saturday.
