Zikhona Sodlaka on Filming Blood & Water While She Was Pregnant

Zikhona Sodlaka on Filming Blood & Water While She Was Pregnant. A lot of women in the entertainment industry have lost job opportunities simply because they fell pregnant. There are also some female celebs who claim that they were let go from work after their employees found out that they were pregnant. The likes of Gabisile Tshabalala, Sphelele Mzimela and Keke Mphuthi are some of the actresses who came forward with their stories.

Some employers though, are so understanding, and do not discriminate against women simply because they want to extend their families. One such example is that of Zikhona Sodlaka, who just revealed that she filmed Blood & Water, while she was heavily pregnant. The award winning actress and TV personality takes this as an honor and privilege, thus she thanked Netflix SA for giving her a chance, despite her pregnancy.

What a privilege and honour it was filming while highly pregnant. Thank you @netflixsa for seeing an able woman/actress and allowing the story to live in the midst of growing a life in my womb.
We celebrate this stride and it will never go unnoticed,” Zikhona said.

Zikhona also thanked Blood & Water Director, Nosipho Ngoasheng and her team for making sure that the environment was conducive for her. This is definitely heartwarming, and many production companies definitely have to take note.

@nosiphodumisangoasheng it is you and your entire team who made sure my contribution to S2 of Blood and Water is as smooth and healthy as can be.
You have my thank you and my respect for a very long time.
Yes physically it can be draining and one becomes like a child herself some days but I would dare other productions and more networks to take a bet on women who WANT to work while pregnant.
Dare I say I bet the work will be just as good if not better, try it ?
Never have I ever enjoyed telling a story as I have this time around, for obvious reasons, Zikhona concluded her beautiful appreciation note.
