Blood and Water Season II Is Finally Here. The day that many people have been waiting for is finally upon us. Blood and Water is back for the much anticipated 2nd season. From the moment the series premiered on Netflix on the 20th of May 2020, it became such an instant hit.

Season II of Blood and Water finished filming in March and will premiere on the 24th September 2021. Lead cast members such as Ama Qamata, Khosi Ngema, Gail Mabalane and Natasha Thahane, took to social media to celebrate the amazing news. The African original Netflix series is making a major come back with new drama, new secrets as well as fresh faces.

Among the new addition is, Leroy Siyafa, who will play Sam. The hunky Sam, is a new love interest mixing things up in the Parkhurst after-school scene. Another new face at the school will be Reece who is played by, Greteli Fincham. The talented actress and model will be introduced to two of her new friends, Pauline, played by Katishcka Chanderlal and Zayd played by Alzavia Abrahams.

Blood and Water made waves across the world becoming the first South African original to reach number 1 on Netflix US France, Bahamas, and Jamaica among other countries. International stars who sang the praises of the Blood and Water include American actress Gabrielle Union and her husband Dwyane Wade. The Hollywood power couple revealed that they can’t wait for season II of the series.

The series revolves around Puleng, a high school girl whose sister Phumelele was kidnapped as part of a human trafficking network shortly after birth. One day, Puleng was invited to a party of Fikile Bhele, a popular athlete studying at Parkhurst College, a prestigious school at Cape Town. After Wade, a new acquaintance points out their resemblance, Puleng starts to suspect that Fikile is Phumelele. She has lived in the shadow of her sister all her life so she decides to get to the bottom of things. She transfers to the elite school to investigate. While solving the puzzle, Puleng discovers that the mystery of her missing sister is not the only secret that her friends and family keep.

Blood and Water won Best TV Drama at the 2021 South African Film and Television Awards as well as awards for cinematography and sound design. We definitely can’t wait to see what season II has in store for us.
