Anele Sphamandla Nene Expresses Gratitude for His Role As Sikhunyana On Shaka iLembe. Over the past couple of weeks we have seen main Shaka iLembe characters express gratitude for their roles. Among those are Thembinkosi Mthethwa, who played King Dingiswayo, Zamani Mbatha who played Nomahlanjana Zwide as well as Nkanyiso Mzimela, who was cast as Somveli.
Now another main character from the hit drama series, Anele Sphamandla Nene, has nothing but gratitude. The talented actor is cast as Sikhunyana, one of King Zwide kaLanga’s sons. Unlike his brother Nomahlanjana, Sikhunyana was all about peace in a world ravaged by war. As he was drawn to diplomacy and reason, Sikhunyana was at odds with his warrior brother Nomahlanjana, testing his loyalty when duty clashes with love.
Sikhunyana was also madly in love with Princess Hletjiwe. From the moment he set eyes upon the princess, he was smitten. Sadly for him, fate had other plans when it was revealed that she was betrothed to Sikhunyana’s brother, Nomahlanjana. It’s too bad that the princess was what the brothers had in common, because in most other aspects they are chalk and cheese.
Nene has taken a moment to appreciate the opportunity to bring the Prince’s character to life. He takes it as an honor, and appreciates all the feedback he constantly get.,
