Watch! Inside Nomzamo Mbatha’s Bursaries Handover. In December 2020, Nomzamo Mbatha through her foundation has partnered with Hollywood Bets to award students with a with a sponsorship of R1 Million. The sponsorship is meant to help South African youth who wish to pursue their tertiary education or who have outstanding fees.

Although she is making it big in America, Nomzamo has not forgotten the promise that she made about helping struggling students. As someone who is passionate about education, she finds pleasure in seeing deserving students receive various bursaries to further their studies. The most exciting thing is that, every single day, Nomzamo’s initiative grows. At the moment over 112 students are part of the programme. She vows to support each and everyone of them until they graduate.

With the financial climate being so devastating and the existing socio-economic factors against the education system and the barriers to entry for the youth of South Africa, it feels really fulfilling to stand in the gap! We continue to support our recipients from 2019/20 until they graduate. Well done to the CLASS of 2021
,” Nomzamo said.

The talented actress and celebrated media personality is working hard to make sure that underprivileged students do not drop out of school. In 2020 Lighthouse Foundation and Hollywoodbets gave away over R500 000 worth of bursaries to 70 deserving young people across the country .

A few months ago, she partnered with two organizations, Cotton On and Unilever, in a bid to gift underprivileged students with jerseys, school shoes as well as some cool goodies. They will also identify one high school in the Eastern Cape where they can support one learner with full stationery. It goes o to show that, Nomzamo does not take her philanthropic work lightly.
