Mother From Hell: How a Johannesburg Woman Tried to Bury Her Own Daughter Alive

Johannesburg — What started as a long-awaited family reunion for a 28-year-old woman turned into a nightmare that almost cost her life. A young woman, whose identity remains protected for her safety, has shared a chilling account of how her own mother allegedly tried to kill her — even attempting to bury her alive.
From Hope to Horror
After years of hardship, the survivor moved to Johannesburg in search of her mother. To her surprise, she was warmly welcomed at first. Her mother provided a fully furnished place, groceries, and cash. But behind the façade of generosity lurked darkness.
Strict rules were imposed: she could not freely communicate with her mother, except through a workplace landline in “emergencies.” Phone calls were rare and tense, and the young woman soon began to feel like a prisoner in her own home.
The Brutal Beatings
The situation escalated after the mother discovered that her daughter had spoken at church about her struggles. Furious, she lashed out violently.
“She beat me for hours until I collapsed,” the victim recalls. “I couldn’t move. My leg was broken, my face swollen. She locked me inside like a lifeless body.”
For days, she endured relentless abuse. When her mother returned, she allegedly kicked her in the jaw and continued the assault, leaving her unable to walk or defend herself.
Dragged Into the Boot
The horror took an even darker turn when the mother decided to remove her from the house.
Too weak to resist, the victim was dragged through a lounge window into the boot of a car. “One eye was swollen shut, I couldn’t even cry anymore. I just prayed silently, thinking this was how I was going to die,” she said.
The vehicle drove deep into a remote dirt road. In the dead of night, her mother pulled out a pickaxe and a spade — tools usually associated with farm work, but now part of a chilling murder attempt.
“She started digging. I knew she was preparing my grave,” the victim recounts.
Left for Dead
After struggling with the digging, the mother suddenly stopped, threw the tools back into the car, and abandoned her daughter on the cold ground. Injured, shivering, and unable to move, the young woman lay helpless until morning.
“I closed my eyes in the dark. I thought it was the end. I accepted my fate.”
A Twisted Turn
At dawn, the mother returned. This time, she was crying — begging her daughter to “cooperate” and insisting she needed medical attention. Too weak to resist, the victim was hauled back into the car and taken to a hospital.
But even then, her mother allegedly tried to manipulate the situation. Instead of taking her to a private clinic immediately, she went to a public hospital, panicking and calling a friend — referred to only as “Sisi T.”
The victim was eventually transferred to a private hospital, where she began receiving proper treatment for her severe injuries.
A Survivor’s Voice
What makes this story even more chilling is not just the violence, but the betrayal. The woman had searched for her mother hoping for love and family. Instead, she found herself trapped in a nightmare at the hands of the very person who brought her into the world.
Her story is still unfolding, and more details are expected as she shares the final part of her survival journey.
This story / confession was shared on the popular page Ndicel’ uncedo iyanditya nantsinto bakhaya
The full confession reads;
I’m 28 years old woman it’s been 3 years ndilapha Joburg.
Ndafika ke ndizofuna umzali ndamfumana
Kwathi kuba etshtile wathi uzandifunela indawo.
Wandifunela indawo ndafika fully furnished ndahlala she bought groceries and gave me cash.
Left me with lot of instructions that made me feel like a prisoner.
So ebehlala angezi ndide ndimlibale but ndingabuzi nto ndilinde yena and I would be told to call only on emergency kwi landline at her work place.
I never called her anyway because I was not sure what was emergency I probably called once and I caught her off guard enemgcwangu waphendula ndathi ndim wathi YES ndothuka and I still can’t recall what I said after because of her tone.
That bothered me so much to an extent that I went to church and I asked for a prayer and briefly shared my journey without realising that she was there.
I left church that day and went to the mall, when she called and asked ndiphi.
I came back and found her furious zange ndiligqibe wandibetha.
I inly got to know why she was beating me ngokuba ethetha ebetha.
I was so confused wandibetha for hours and I was not brave to fight back wandibetha and locked me up wandishiya I could not move she arrived in the morning and beat me up again she found me on the floor, because I slept on the floor I could not move.
I way right inbetween the coffee table and the couch .
She opened the door ndava isitixo and the 1st thing she did was to kick me on the jaw.
Wandibetha again at that stage ndandigodola I could not scream ndandincwina.
I stayed in people’s homes I stayed in a very toxic orphanage ndiyizulile into kukuswela ndandike ndibethwe ndingenzanga nto but zange ndabethwa that way in my life.
That Monday I collapsed, and she left me there unattended and arrived at night.I was consciousbut still could not move.
I was in pain,it was like a dream but yazi I accepted my faith that night I said to God she brought me to this earth it’s ok makenze akufunayo.
Iinyembezi ziwela umbombo and I could not move I knew my leg was broken.
I knew ndilimele.
Now here is the scary part.
There are parking ports at the back, the windows from the lounge zisezantsi she went outside and reversed opened the boot wangena opened the window and dragged me.
Then went back outside because icango le boot was blocking the car ukuba ithi ncaa.
That time one eye 👁️ was literally closed elinye ndimfimfithekisa she drgged through the window from outside out be at the back waya phambili closed the boot closed windows and that time kunzima nokhamisa.
She was inside for some time and I could not move eventually wangena and when I checked next to me there was umhlakulo.
Ndazichamela again.
She got in yaduma engine waphuma again and came back with a blanket opened the boot and covered me.I was facing the other direction kulaliswe back seats to accommodate me.
I slept there helplessly in the back and her phone rang it was the husband telling her that he will be home late and she sounded so relaxed over the phone for umntu ongombayo but the conversation was not too long. It was quite in the car, I could not see the directions but I knew xa siphuma we turned right and the second right instead of exiting to join the free way”based on ukuqikelela kwam” sahamba straight and that’s when I got confused.
It was a long drive I was still crying but ke zizehlela nje ngapha ndibanexhala ndithandaze siphoned ndizixolise.
I was exhausted as a result I said to myself “Ndasinda ezintweni ndazophelela apha, for a second I believed that yindlela yam endizawuhamba ngayo” kuthulekile emotweni akukhali nengoma .
Yavakala ingena kwindlela yomhlaba it was bumpy yaqhubeka and eventually she stopped and left me inside the car for few minutes wabuya.
She opened the back seat door NOT the boot. The one behind the passenger seat and used it to drag me out uyandihluthuluza kabuhlungu and I was heavy because bendiyekelele umzimba
Wandirhuqa ndayohlaba phantsi ngentloko negxalana lase right not considering the height of the car she took out ipeki nomhlakulo.
Started digging wabetha kambalwa woyisakala I think she underestimated the whole idea wayenayo
Suddenly she stopped and took both these tools wazifaka emva dragged me close to lendawo bendicinga ke izawubalingcwaba lam.
She got into the car and left me there.
Wahamba ndabe ndilele apho ndigodola ndiqaqanjelwa ndithandazela nje okomntu cwaka.
In the dark I chose to close my eyes, I did not pray I tried to shut off my mind. It was dark and cold.
By the time I realised kuya kukhanya isibhakabhaka.
I heared the sound of a car and I just knew it was her and yes in deed it was her.
Her footsteps were moving so fast towards my direction.
Abeke isandla entanyeni caba uva imithambo iyashukuma na azame undiphakamisa that time she was crying apologising begging me to cooperate esithi I needed medical attention uyalila I realised I’m dealing with a pycho apha but I closed my eye ndaqonda ndizawuzifisa sana wandibeka phantsi esazama undiphakamisa wasondeza imoto.
Kunzima undifaka .
My whole lower body was not functioning both arms nje kwazona zityokololo ndandingenamandla ngapha she was begging me ndisebenzisane naye.
Uyakhala eventually sandihlohla and drove off.
Wandisa kwenye public hospital endingazuyibiza sana kwacaba she was panicking akho hoyo lungako she was calling someone non stop Kanti it was a her friend. Let’s call her Sisi T light skinned lady.
Safika selindile and immidiatelu when she saw me she suggested a provate hospital but she refused and said she could hey ju trouble public abazuhoya yonke into.
Zindenzani pains I was admitted
To cut a long story short I was transferred to a private hospital later.
I’ll share the last last part
