The country was hit by the biggest blow back in May, when Presley Chweneyagage passed away. His family shared that he passed away as a result of natural causes. Presley’s uncle, Mzwakhe Sigudla, said he was having difficulty breathing when he passed away. The multi-award winning actor passed away aged 40.

Popular club DJ, and TV presenter DJ Warras real name Warrick Stock was shot and killed near Carlton Centre. in Johannesburg on Tuesday 16th of December. He died at the age of 40 years
Londiwe Nene

Londiwe Faith Nene passed away, in October this year. Her death announcement came as a shock, more so since Londiwe was active on social media, just a few days prior. Londiwe is best known for her role as, Sbongile, who was on a love triangle on Durban Gen. She has also been on Aunties, Audulting as well as Smoke & Mirrors. Londiwe was also a TV presenter, and one of her most recent jobs was hosting Moja Love show, Uthando Noxolo.
Meme Ditshego

Meme Ditshego sadly passed on the evening of 25 June, aged 60. The SAFTA winning radio and TV actress died after a short illness in hospital Mama Ditshego’s conditioned worsened and that led to her passing. For six years, she played Josephine in SABC2’s comedy series Ga Re Dumele. The role won her the Best Actress Golden Horn trophy at the South African Film and TV Awards in 2012. For the same role she was nominated again for a SAFTA in the same category in 2014.
Don Mlangeni Nawa

Veteran actor Don Mlangeni Nawa, passed away in Wednesday, 16th April 2025, aged 65 years. Having been on television for at least three decades, the veteran actor remains one of the most recognizable faces in the industry. Many know Bab’ Don for portraying Zebedee Matabane on the former SABC 3 soapie Isidingo. He portrayed the role for 16 years.
Yallunder

Musician Yolanda Nyembezi, known in the industry as Yallunder, is among those who passed away this year. She died on Thursday 13th of March at Charlotte Maxeke Academic Hospital, after months of illness. Yallunder was 30 years of age, at the time of her passing.
