Job description
- To attend any briefing meeting with client or manager
- Attend conceptualisation sessions
- Attend shoots when necessary
- Obtain completed job card from production manager
- Transfer footage from server
- Edit footage and material as per job card, storyboard or brief
- Create 2D and 3D graphics to insert into edit
- Source relevant stock footage when necessary
- Export project to audio department for final mix
- Conduct internal pre-proof
- Create disc or file for first proofing session
- Conduct in-studio proof when necessary
- Host client for long term proofing sessions
- Exercise post proof changes within the stipulated deadlines
- Prepare material for final proof
- Attend in studio final proof when necessary
- Post final proof create masters
- Hand masters to production manager for duplication or delivery
- Tele-stream to channel when necessary
- Create back up of project
- Maintain an orderly digital filing system of all edited projects
- Music cue sheets to be completed and handed to production manager

Requirements
- Knowledge of video editing software
- Knowledge of video editing techniques
- Ability to manipulate editing software packages to eliminate troubleshooting for a preferred outcome
- Knowledge of entire Adobe package
- Knowledge of Mac editing compilation packages, specifically final cut and plug-in packages
- Knowledge of motion graphics software, as well as 3D graphics software
- Knowledge of MS office package
- Edit to brief or story board
- Graphics compilation
- After Effects implementation
- 3D animation element creation
Advantageous
- Tertiary qualification in editing or 3D compilation
- Five to eight years’ experience in editing 2D and 3D animation
- Three to five years’ exposure to audio, video and graphics
- Understanding of TV and broadcast material management
- Knowledge of online and web formats
