The role
You will be responsible for the guidance of train wagons according to the loco driver’s needs and instructions as well as the coupling and uncoupling of train wagons for the required freight.

You will need
You need to be competent in shunting processes and procedures as well as pre-shift inspection and radio procedures. You need good knowledge of equipment/tools as well as lock-out procedures. You need to be acquainted with work area and have good observation skills.

You need to be conscious and safety conscious at all times. You also need to be reliable, disciplined and goal-orientated.

Requirements
You will need a Grade 12/N3 qualification and at least 1 years’ experience in general operations. You will be required to work shifts. You will be required to pass a medical fitness certificate in order to be considered for this position. Applicants may also be subjected to physical testing when going for the medical fitness certificate.

Remuneration
The initial salary will be determined in accordance with Kumba Iron Ore Ltd. policies; this position is an Anglo Band 9
