Radio Personalities Remember the Late Jeremy Mansfield

Radio Personalities Remember the Late Jeremy Mansfield. Another sad day for South Africa as popular radio personality dies. Jeremy Mansfield has tragically lost his battle against liver cancer at the age of 59. He died peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends.
The former Highveld Stereo Rude Awakening breakfast show host fought a brave battle against the dreaded disease in 2022 since revealing in January that he had terminal Stage 4 liver cancer. Sharing the news on her Facebook account, Jeremy Mansfield’s former colleague and best friend Sam Cowen revealed her heartbreak.
“This morning a light went out in the world. He died peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends and boundless love.
Jeremy Mansfield lived large, he didn’t know how to do small. He loved hard, laughed loud, and managed to combine mischief and mayhem with heart and soul. The city was brighter and lighter with him on the airwaves, he changed lives every day. When he wasn’t raising millions for charity, he was raising fresh hell!
We will miss him horribly. The family is devastated and is asking for privacy during this time. Right to the end, we were reading him your messages and he was so happy to hear them all, every single one. He knew he was loved and it mattered. He mattered. There will be a new star in the sky tonight,” part of the announcement read.
Mansfield is being remembered by those in the industry among them, Mark Pilgrim, who is also battling terminal cancer. The likes of Anele Mdoda, Gareth Cliff, Mantsoe Pout, Cindy Poluta and so many other took to Twitter to remember the media giant.

The darling of radio later tv Jeremy Mansfield died this morning. Liver cancer . He was single at time of death. I worked with him for years on “ A word or 2” and remained friends for a long time. So dynamic, talented , powerful , kind hearted. Huge sense of humour.

A giant oke has fallen – I have known Jeremy #Mansfield since I was two. We share common ancestry. He was a superhero to me as a kid and I was in awe of his brilliance as an adult. He brought joy, and occasional rage, to millions. Well done Jem.
