Floyd Shivambu Announces New Political Party Afrika Mayibuye Movement. 2025 is far from being over, but it has been quite an eventful year, where local politics are concerned. One shocking thing was when Dr Mbuyiseni Ndlozi resigned as the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) representative from parliament.
Ndlozi’s peer, Floyd Shivambu resigned from the EFF in August 2024. There were rumors that the founder and former Deputy of the EFF, was going to join Jacob Zuma’s uMkhonto Wesizwe party. Well, soon after, those rumors became true, when Shivambu became an official member of the MK. He moved up the ranks to become the party’s Secretary General. In no time, there was trouble in paradise, as Shivambu and some prominent party members clashed. He was thus demoted from his position, and redeployed to parliament.
A few months back, Shivambu invited members of the press, to talk about political developments in the country. He also quoted Amilcar Cabral, who advocates for speaking the truth to the masses. He then introduced the Afrika Mayibuye Movement. Today, the organization has been launched as a political party, and Shivambu strongly belive they can take up the leadership of the country. He also announced that application forms are out, for those interested.
