Nkanyiso Mchunu Receives His Flowers for His Role As Mkhululi. This is one death that no one saw coming. Thursday evening, Umkhokha: The Curse‘s Mlungisi ended his life by jumping off a building after partying with his brothers Khulekani and Siphamandla.

In the episode Mvelase’s portrait fell from the wall, causing panic and concern for the family. This happened before Mlungisi and his wife Nokubonga could announce their pregnancy. The portrait signaled a dark cloud in the family.

Although he was a villain, many came to warm up to Mkhululi in recent episodes. He was starting to be nice, interacted with the family in a civil manner, and did away with his drinking. Just as the new Mkhululi was getting a fan base, he untimely passed on by suicide. While viewers are mourning him, they also took the opportunity to praise the man behind the role, Nkanyiso Mchunu. The talented actor gave it his all, portraying the character just the way it should be.

The veteran actor spoke highly of Nkanyiso, who he first saw in Muvhango, before working with him in Imbewu. Mondli then added that Nkanyiso is killing his role as Mkhululi, and stated how proud he is of him.
