Junior Ticketing Agents Wanted At Zahra Travel and Tours

​We’re looking for experienced ticketing agents to for fill a junior travel consultancy position within each office. We welcome applications from highly motivated travel industry professionals, with a minimum of 1 – 2 years experience in a similar role. 

Job Summary and Duties 

It is the responsibility of all junior travel consultants to exhibit excellent interpersonal skills and have a genuine commitment to customer services. You will manage travel requirements made for business and holiday and will provide tourism related services and package tours on behalf of our suppliers. You will be largely responsible for the compiling and submission of comparative travel quotations and booking reservations. 

Duties and Responsibilities 

• Plan and sell transportations, accommodations, insurance and other travel services.
• Cooperate with clients to determine their needs and advise them of appropriate destinations, modes of transportations, travel dates, costs and accommodations.
• Provide relevant information, brochures and publications (guides, local customs, maps, regulations, events etc) to travellers locally and internationally.
• Book transportation, flights and make hotel reservations.
• Use promotional techniques and prepare promotional materials to sell itinerary tour packages, such as:
  • Email marketing: Creating a targeted client database and pushing promotional information.
  • Website marketing: Capture and publish tour / cruise / holiday packages and specials.
  • Social media marketing: Syndicate all published promotions via Facebook, Twitter & Google +.
• Deal with occurring travel problems, complaints or refunds.
• Enter data into our software and maintain client files:
  • Maintain past, existing and prospect client database.
• Network with tour operators; to include:
  • Identify existing and new suppliers and liaise with possible partner companies (establish an ongoing relationship).
• Reporting duties to include detailed follow up reporting on all new, existing and submitted quote requests.

Requirements for Position 

This position is only open to female applicants that are South-African citizens, and are fully bilingual and fluent in both written and spoken Afrikaans and English . The successful candidate must be able to for fill all the requirements for this position as indicated below. 

· 2+ Years experience in leisure and commercial travel consulting and ticket issueing. 
· Experience within the leisure & commercial travel and cruise industries. 
· Experience in Amadeus or Galileo selling platform – This is a must. 
· Superior destination knowledge. 
· Proven sales track record. 
· Attention to detail and the ability to retain information is crucial. 
· Excellent interpersonal skills and a genuine commitment to customer service excellence. 
· Ability to build and maintain exceptional relationships with agents of partner companies and service providers. 
· Display initiative, accuracy and ability to prioritise workload in a fast-paced environment. 
· Able to apply comprehensive computer literacy skills specific to MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Reservation Systems and Database applications.
