LEARNERSHIP FOR PROSPECTIVE TRADE UNION OFFICIAL

We are a registered trade union seeking a number of persons to engage in our Trade Union Officials Learnership Program in Gauteng.
Successful candidates shall: –
- Be South African of any gender
- Receive training in all aspects of the job, including theoretical training in Labour Law and the practical application thereof;
- Gain a practical understanding of the theory and application of the Labour Relations Act, Act 66 of 1995 as amended and the Basic Conditions of
Employment Act, Act 75 of 1997 as amended;
- Be trained in the general operations of the trade union and all matters relating to labour and industrial relations.
Successful candidates shall be engaged in a TWO week program during which time you shall be exposed to : –
- Recruitment of new members;
- Servicing of existing members;
- Attending meetings with employees and their employers;
- Dispute resolution at the CCMA.
The successful completion of certain competency evaluations;
Receive a certificate of Outcome after the successful completion of the program.
Successful candidates will receive: –
Since you will not be employed with the union you shall not receive a salary but you shall receive a stipend during the TWO week program.
Upon successful completion of the two week program candidate may be offered a position as Junior Trade Union Official with the union.
