Jonas Lekganyane

Jonas has been approached by the CEO of the Supastrickas print cartoon series to develop his characters for an African online cartoon channel. He is also finalizing a deal with a prominent business; the plan is to take the NokoMashaba character to a level of merchandising and other brand extensions.

7. Taskeen Adam

Taskeen Adam

Adam (24) is an electrical engineer who is on the brink of launching her brainchild – a solarpowered classroom – as part of a project she initiated and is now carrying forward with a team of like-minded individuals. Adam is also an executive member of Engineers Without Borders South Africa. Her role as the organisation’s head of membership empowerment through leadership is to host think tanks that get the engineering fraternity beyond their usual confines.

8. Sandile Khubeka

Sandile Khubeka

Sandile is South Africa’s youngest doctor. He became a doctor at the age of 20.  He’s currently serving his internship at three hospitals – Greys, Edendale and Northdale in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal (KZN). He is an Ambassador of SANBS .  He was nominated by the MTV Base AMA.  He was part of the top 200 Young South Africans’ list by Mail & Guardian•

9. Tiisetso Lephoto

Tiisetso Lephoto

Tiisetso Lephoto (25) is a Wits PhD student  who  is also a One Young World ambassador and a Wits Golden Key member. Recognised as one of the new young and upcoming researchers in science by the Gauteng department of agriculture and rural development in 2013, she secured second place at the Falling Walls Conference in Berlin for the best researcher in South Africa/Africa. Lephoto is a Wits aerobics fitness and training instructor and founder of TiiMoves.

10. David Ming

David Ming

David Ming is Chemical Engineering Lecturer, Wits. It was this thinking that inspired him to establish a society called Engineers Without Borders Wits (EWB-Wits) at Wits in 2010. Ming is also one of the founding members of Engineers Without Borders South Africa (EWB-SA).
