AVI Limited is offering a 12-month HR Internship at its Bryanston, Johannesburg office. The role is designed for graduates looking to gain hands-on experience in Human Resources within a leading consumer goods company. The internship provides exposure to HR administration, employee lifecycle management, and operational support across various HR functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Support general HR administration, including new engagements, employee changes, benefits, leave analysis, and terminations.
- Communicate payroll deadlines and HR policies to employees.
- Assist with performance management processes, including appraisals and annual reviews.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly HR reports, including business unit updates.
- Respond to internal and external HR queries and follow up on complaints.
- Manage HR documentation, ensuring all records are accurate, secure, and up to date.
- Initiate SAP workflows for recruitment, employee changes, terminations, overtime, and allowances.
- Track learning and development initiatives, including training sessions, Workplace Skills Plans, and Employment Equity Plans.
- Coordinate recruitment and termination processes, conduct interviews if required, and support onboarding activities.
- Administer employee benefits, including pension, provident fund, and medical aid, and assist with wellness program administration.
- Assist in industrial relations matters, including disciplinary hearings, appeals, and grievance meetings.
Requirements
- Completed degree in Human Resources or Industrial Psychology.
- Strong administrative and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and HRIS systems, particularly SAP.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage confidential information professionally.
- High level of reliability and teamwork orientation.
