Innocent Masuku on How Using Drugs Has Affected His Acting Career. Alcohol and drug abuse are some of the main things that has destroyed many young people’s lives. A lot of people have lost their source of income simply because they are addicts.

Sadly those in the entertainment industry are more at risk because of the pressures that comes with showbiz. We have seen superstars such as the late Brenda Fassie, Kabelo Mabalane, Vusi Nova and Ishmael Morabe struggle with addiction, at the height of their careers. Some of them manged to turn their lives around, while others sadly lost gigs, or worse, their lives.

One personality whose life has been affected a great deal by drugs is Innocent Masuku. The former Zone 14 and Yizo Yizo actor has been missing in action, and he has his drug addiction to blame. As gifted and loved as he was, Innocent sadly lost lucrative career opportunities as well as good friends in the industry.

As South Africa is commemorating June 16, Innocent has a few words for young people who might be facing the same challenges as he did. He took the opportunity to advice young people to be careful of the friends they keep and the choices they because it affects their lives. In turn, Innocent urged the youth to think about those who fought and lost their lives for our freedom today.
