Leera Mthethwa Shares A Heartfelt Message As Season I of Redemption Comes to An End. A number of shows have recently announced that the are coming to an end. Shows like Gomora, The Black Door, and Adulting, are among those, which will soon be off-screen.

Redemption is another show, which has also come to an end. The BET Africa telenovela, depicts a family at war with itself, as beneath the surface exists many secrets and lies which threaten to test their belief system and tear them apart. Set in a mega church, the story revolves around the close-knit and highly respected Zikode family.

The hit series boasts a talented cast, among them, Kwanele Mthethwa, Themba Ndaba, Tina Jaxa, Sparky Xulu, Sthandiwe Kgoroge, Yonda Thomas, Pearl Modiadie, Zenzo Ngqobe, Seputla Sebogodi, Pakamisa Zwedala, Mmarona Motshegoa, Peter Mashigo, Helen Lebepe, Leera Mthethwa, Marjorie Langa, N’kone Mamejta, Toka Mtabane and Sonni Chidiebere.

Another talented cast member of Redemption is the one and only Leera Mthethwa. The talented actress and MC played the role of Queen Modise, a nurse in her late 30s at a community hospital. She is described as a gossipmonger and a narrator of the story alongside her best friend/worst enemy, MaNxumalo. She’s very spicy but young and funky as well.

Now that the first season has come to an end, Leera took a moment to appreciate her character, other cast members as well as the producers.

As the curtain falls on the first season of @bet_africa ‘s daily drama @betredemption tonight; I know for a fact that the gods of film and television are in a studio in a world unknown and they are slow clapping at the marvel @seriti.tv and @burntoniontv have created,” Leera said.

Speaking of her character, she added, “Having the opportunity to literally play, create and workshop the character of Queen Modise has been nothing short of euphoric.
My fellow players are emotional warriors and we were lead by a team of Directors that understood the assignment.”
