Programme Director: Scholarship
Purpose of Role | The mission of the Allan Gray Orbis Foundation is to promote prosperity through entrepreneurship in an integrated Southern Africa. The main purpose of the Programme Director is to direct, oversee and manage the Foundation’s Scholarship Programme and Selection units. The Programme Director will manage placement schools and other key stakeholder relationships and build strategic opportunities. This role reports to the Head of Programmes and has two direct reports. |
Objectives of Role | Strategic management of the Scholarship function and contribution to the development of the overall strategy of the Foundation. Efficient financial management of the annual scholarship budget. Development and maintenance of constructive, effective stakeholder relations. Strategic management of the scholarship function. Performance management and development of the national manager and the selection manager. Development and implementation of an operational and strategic annual plan which will deliever on the mandate of Scholarship. Analysis of achievements and reporting on these to the relevant stakeholders. Functional management ensuring cross functional alignment between the Scholarship and Fellowship Programmes |
Experience and Qualifications | Honours Degree. 5 years relevant management and youth development/entrepreneurial experience. Sound understanding of the educational and schooling landscape. Extensive project management experience. |
