Vacancy: Surveillance Office
| Job Summary | The objective of this role is the daily monitoring and review of trading activities with a view of identifying those trading behaviours that are in breach of the JSE Rules and Directives and/or have potential to impair the integrity of the regulated market |
| Responsibilities / Outputs | Independently review market activity with a view of identifying trading activities that have potential to impair the integrity of the markets and conduct preliminary investigations Develop and demonstrate a good understanding of the JSE’s Derivative Surveillance Systems Daily monitoring and review of the commodity derivatives and currency derivatives markets and ensure compliance with the JSE Rules and Directives Daily monitoring of limits and escalation of breaches to Senior Manager: Surveillance Development of processes and procedures to facilitate daily monitoring and reporting Timeous resolution of trading queries Over time develop and demonstrate a good understanding of the JSE Rules and Directives in respect of the markets you are responsible for Mapping and documentation of surveillance processes Provide support to other members of the team |
| Experience | Graduate with relevant degree, preferably in any quantitative discipline A minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a broker’s back, middle, or front office environment; High level of computer literacy, especially in the use of spreadsheets Understanding of financial instruments would be an advantage Good understanding of JSE business would be an advantage |
