The Inspiration Behind Ayanda Thabethe’s Miss Supranational National Costume Revealed. One of the most important aspects of international beauty pageants is the National Costume. This is because it reflects the aspirations of the people as well as the regional culture and traditions. Every time contestants in beauty pageants display their national costumes, the glamour, the splendor, and the flamboyance strike our attention.

South Africa has always been big on National Costumes, with our representatives rocking the most breathtaking attires. A year ago the reigning Miss South Africa, Ndavi Nokeri rocked a beautiful costume when she represented the country at Miss Universe 2022. The beauty queen rocked homage to her Tsonga heritage with an eye catching Tsonga inspired dress.

Ayanda Thabethe, who is representing the country at the ongoing Miss Supranational competition held in Poland. The beauty queen has just unveiled her National Costumes, and it is the most breathtaking attire. Ayanda took to her Instagram to reveal the inspiration behind her costume, which resembles the sun.

Her National Costume is based around the African sun. The designers played around with the color Gold as well as the colors in the South African flag. The whole idea of the sun is to remind everyone out there of the richness and goodness that comes from the sun.

Ayanda has also unveiled her preliminary dress designed by Juan Visser of the brand Juan William Aria, who is also responsible for her Miss Supranational finale evening gown. The dress flowed on her body as she gave her perfect walk along her beaming smile.

She is also one of the most favorite contestants, and chances are high that Ayanda might clinch the crown. She recently won one of the top five Miss Supranational slots during the finals of Suprachat2023. Her winning the crown will be a historic moment in the country, as the current Miss Supranational is our very own, Lalela Mswane.
