We mourned Patrick Shai and Riky Rick, who both committed suicide. Then, we have Kuli Roberts and DJ Dimplez, who untimely lost their lives after collapsing.
Patrick Shai
Patrick Shai tragically took his own life on the 22nd of January 2022. The veteran actor’s body was discovered by his wife in the garage of his Dobsonville home in the morning of that fateful day. Shai became a household name after appearing in numerous television series including Mission Top Secret, Zero Tolerance, Hillside, Soul City and Yizo Yizo.
Kuli Roberts
On the 10th of February 2022, South Africa woke up to the sad news that Kuli Roberts was no more. The veteran journalist, media personality, actress, author lost her life on the 9th of February after collapsing on the set of a new show. The news of Kuli’s death came as a shock to South Africans, more so since she was just fine in the morning, and was active on social media.
Ricky Rick
South Africa is still in shock over the passing of Riky Rick. The award winning rapper, fashion icon, businessman and actor took his own life over a week ago.
DJ Dimplez
In less than six days after Riky Rick’s burial, the entertainment industry has been dealt yet another blow. Trending on social media is DJ Dimplez, whose death has shocked many across the country. DJ Dimplez, whose real name is Tumi Mooi, is believed to have died on Sunday due to a brain haemorrhage. He was the founder and pioneer of Pop Bottles event series, and also pioneered the PopCast podcast.
