Pic: Miss South Africa Reveals Her Miss Universe National Costume. Thursday afternoon, Miss South Africa Demi Leigh Peters revealed her outfits for Miss Universe. Her most outstanding was of course her colorful national outfit. It got thumbs up from the savage black Twitter.
Standing tall in thigh-high boots and maroon “petals” attached to her arms‚ the official Miss SA account said the outfit was inspired by the national flower. She is all sorts of stunning in this piece of jewellery made from gold and diamonds, called “The Daisies of Africa”.
The costume was designed by Malikah Hajee and Lloyd Kandlin and their team at The Costume Department while Anel Botha has designed a number of outfits including the finale gown. They created a version of the South African national flower, the protea, which is also the official Miss South Africa emblem.
